The seasonally lifeguarded beach is less than 300 steps from the condo’s front door.

There are several boardwalks over the environmentally protected dunes from The Island Club onto the beach. Each beach entrance has freshwater showers to rinse off salt and sand before returning to the unit. At least one entrance is handicap enabled to allow wheelchairs, strollers or overloaded beach wagons access to the beach without navigating stairs.

South Carolina and Hilton Head Island have enacted laws to protect the dunes and beaches, and to create the family beach vacation atmosphere. The beach regulations are posted at each entrance and are also available online. The lifeguards are responsible for enforcing the laws. Sounds officious but it’s really not, these laws are common sense.

The beach is very wide with little competition from other complexes. You’ll find yourself completely alone by walking a little distance to the left or right of The Island Club, even at peak season. At high tide there is enough space for all; at low tide there will be acres of beach to share.

The beach’s tide times can be found online

You will need to bring your own beach towels as the unit’s towels are not suitable for the beach.
